Netherlands

The Netherlands have legalized assisted suicide and euthanasia for over two decades. The Dutch law states that a patient with unrelievable pain may make a voluntary request for an eased death. The physician must first go to the authorities to report the case before taking any action. Studies have shown that half of the doctors suggested the use of euthanasia to the patient, which goes against the voluntariness of the process. Regulation was also made impossible due to the fact that only about 50% of the cases were even reported. The Netherlands have since created hospices trained in palliative care.

Alternative method

Assited suicide and the use of euthanasia are poorly looked upon among the general public. There is an alternative method called palliative care. Palliative care is referred to as a treatment to relieve, rather than cure, symptoms caused by some diseases. Physicians trained in this care can reduce the severity of the disease and allow some patients to live more comfortably. Many physicians, who are now trained in palliative care, have expressed their regrets for using the assisted suicide method on an patient.

pros of doctor assisted suicide

When you think of a person helping someone kill themself, you may think that may be considered murder. In the medical world, it has been known to hear of such cases. For some very ill patients, it just seem that every day is a struggle until they finally pass on. At times the pain may seem too much for them to bare. Some physicians know that there is a slim chance, if any, for these patients to survive. What would you do if you see a patient suffering so much and there is not much of a chance for them to get better? Would you give in to there wishes and help ease their pain, or watch an innoscent person suffer? Well some doctors administer a lethal dose of euthanasia to help ease the pain of the patient, and to let them pass in peace.

Class Equity

The use of the Internet and the computers follows the gap in income in the different social class levels. The correct or commonly referred term for this is called the digital divide. This is a hugh problem for the education of students whose family resides in the lower social classes. The need for students to have computers and access to computers has dramitically increased. The lack of computers for these students with lower class families will hinder their learning and put them at a disadvantage on assignments and research papers.
